Alicia M. Long, Esq., currently serves as the Principal Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia (“USAO-DC”), where she prosecutes a wide range of felony and misdemeanor cases in both the Superior Court of the District of Columbia (“Superior Court”) and the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Throughout her career with the USAO DC, Ms. Long has held several key supervisory roles in the Superior Court Division and the Criminal Division. She has an extensive trial background across complex portfolios, including homicides and violent crimes, as well as specialized domestic violence, sex offense, and child abuse cases.
Before joining the USAO-DC, Ms. Long was named a Presidential Management Fellow and began her legal career at the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Office of Chief Counsel, advising federal agents and field offices on constitutional, criminal, and national security law.
Ms. Long has received numerous awards, including several Special Achievement Awards, the FBI Director’s Certificate of Appreciation and Commendation, the District of Columbia National Guard’s Order of the Capital Guardian Award, and the District of Columbia Meritorious Service Medal.
Ms. Long earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota and her Juris Doctor from the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
